Your proposed business must have a business trading name that it will be registered with and known by. That is the legal trading name which will appear on the business letterheads, stationery, insurance policy, appear on the trading premises, web site, if any and any legal documents. That is also the that will be registered with the government tax authorities, or Company House (in the U K) if it is a limited company.
The form that your business may take:
- Your own first or surname. For example Smith & Co, or Smith Trading co.
- The town or street on which your business is located.
- What the business does.
- A meaningless name or just letter initials.
